Seamark has won a string of prestigious awards, including the Queen’s Award for Export Achievement in 1998 – a year in which exports represented 83% of the group’s sales. In 1999 the company won the inaugural Business in Europe Award – whose main sponsors were the Financial Mail on Sunday and Barclays Bank. The company also won the Frozen and Chilled Exporter of the Year Award at the ‘Food from Britain Export Awards’ and in the same year, Chairman and Chief Executive Iqbal Ahmed was named Asian Businessman of the Year by the Bangladesh-British Chamber of Commerce.

QUALITY & ACCREDITATION

In 2001, chairman Iqbal Ahmed was made an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) for Services to International Trade.

The company has achieved BRC (British Retail Consortium) Global Standard higher level certification and follows strict HACCP(Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) practices. Site visits ensure that hygiene meets our own exceptional Quality Control Monitoring System – as well as the requirements set out in EU legislation.
